Expectations 2026
Hey! Happy New Year’s Eve! It’s been a YEAR since I wrote something here! Kinda crazy, right? Well, without further ado, let’s start this post! (And 2026).
Here is a TL;DR, and below will be a deep dive on each of the topics!
- Travel more
- Talk to more people
- Start doing anime/movie/game reviews
- Be fitter
- Get proficient at electric guitar
- Be a better general developer
Travel more
I’ve traveled to a bunch of different places in Brazil, so why more? Two key differences:
- It was only in Brazil and generally traveling in a very “touristy” way.
- I was (mostly) never alone.
So yeah, I really want to experience more places by myself by just getting an Airbnb and living in the place like the locals do. I don’t know if I can have a lot of international experiences, though ;-; I’m not rich enough to just keep jumping locations internationally, but if I can manage 1 or 2, I will be pretty happy! (konan from the future: Hey me! you better have a vacation by march or I’m punching you.)
Talk to more people
I am a scared cat. Seriously. For many different reasons, I am a very weird human. I’m reserved in some ways, yet weirdly open in others. I can say things to your face with no thought, or I can endlessly overthink them to oblivion. Combine that with weird niche interests, a remote job, and a terrible pandemic experience, and you get me. That doesn’t mean I hate everyone. I wanna see a world I never saw with people I don’t really understand.
Start doing anime/movie/game reviews
I love media. I love to think about themes and how they came to be. Why was a shot made? How? What was the intention of this scene? I never had the guts to expose a lot of my thoughts to people. I have a post on Witch Hat Atelier here in case you are curious about an example of how I communicate those thoughts. I want to talk more about shows I enjoy and WHY I enjoy them. This feels incredibly hard because of the presentation part. I know what I want to share, but I don’t know how I should share it in a way people will like. Anyway, this one feels quite hard, but I have a weird burning passion for it.
Be fitter
This one is the simplest, run-of-the-mill thought that everyone has every year: sign up for the gym, pay for a month, go twice, and never go again. The difference being, I actually go! I’ve been going to the gym a good 2 years already, but I don’t really have a set goal. I just kinda go and do what I’m told to do. Right now, I want to have more confidence in my body so it gets sculpted in the way that I want it! I also want to accomplish the goal of running a 10km little marathon.
Get proficient at electric guitar
This one is complicated, and the one point I will say that I’m not sure if I will be able to do. If I really do travel a lot this next year, getting to play consistently will be incredibly hard :c I still have it as a goal, though. I love music, and I used to play piano as a kid. I think it’s therapeutic and just a simple, nice skill to carry through life :) (Also, yes, Bocchi inspired me to pick it up again frfr fuck you for throwing on my face).
Be a better general developer
This one is, again, quite obvious given the fact I work as a dev. I love tech and I always did, but since I got a job at a young age, I was always somewhat tunnel-visioned about it. I learned what I needed to learn to execute my job. I want to be a bit more of a generalist, and although this year was already a great step in that direction, I still want more!
Conclusion?
You just read a weirdo yap session looooooooooool Genuinely hope everyone reading this has an amazing year ahead of them. We all have our struggles. We are all a bit fucked up in the head in our own way, right? But we do our best. Follow your moral code, do the best for you and those around you, grab your destiny, kick it in the butt, and tell it who’s boss! That’s it for 2025, bye.
Obs: If you barely or never even interacted with me, don’t be afraid! I don’t bite! I’ve had more than one person tell me that I have an unapproachable aura or something lol. Don’t be afraid to say hi!
